Support Program for the Gift of Music & The Arts for Teens At-Risk & In Financial Need

DHTBF’s newly developed support program provides the gift of music & the arts to teens at-risk and in financial need. The unfortunate reality is that 1 in 3 Canadian families are unable to provide for their children. With this life changing opportunity and a new direction in learning, hope, mentoring, immediate joy, pride, self confidence, creativity, self esteem and proving a sense of accomplishment. All motivators which help steer at-risk teens away from risky behaviours. Our youth will gain valuable skills that can be applied to their post secondary education and future goals.

Sculpture, art, dance, culinary, photography…

  • Series of 8 classes, bus tickets can be supplied for transportation

“POSTITIVE WORD” LEGAL GRAFFITI WORKSHOPS, IN CLASS & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

 Instruction by Kedre Browne

  • 4 classes per workshop,  2 hours each in length, up to 15 students
  • DHTBF “ It Takes Courage to Change” Sketch Book and materials provided
  • Keepsake “Positive Word”  Canvas or Wall Mural are created in the last class by the students with spray paints and kept in your school/organization
  • A positive relationship is formed with Kedre and your students as they learn something new and work together in a group setting.
  • Student materials fee of $25.00 a student applied, additional fees may be applied
  • Workshops are booked ongoing.
  •  Student Journaling encouraged at each lesson, exploring and mentoring the “Courage to Change”

“LEARN TO PLAY THE GUITAR” WORKSHOPS / IN CLASS OR AFTER SCHOOL 

Instruction by Eric Richardson

  • 6 classes per workshop, 1.5 hours each in length, up to 6 students per workshop.
  • Lessons taught on an acoustic guitar.
  • Student Journaling encouraged at each lesson, exploring and mentoring the “Courage to Change”
  • Students will be able to play a song by the last workshop/student showcase.
  • Guitar Music lesson Book provided and  a DHTBF “ It Takes Courage to Change” Notebook.
  • A positive relationship is formed with Eric and students in a group setting as they discover a new art form.
  • Workshop student fee of $25.00 applied, instrument rental cost and additional fees to be discussed.
  • Workshops are booked ongoing.
