Patricia Campbell, Archbishop Romero Catholic Secondary School

On behalf of the students at Archbishop Romero Catholic Secondary School I want to express our thanks and appreciation to Kedre Brown and the staff at theDrew Hildebrand Teen Benefit Fund.  The feedback we have received from the staff and students regarding the Positive Word Workshop has been just amazing. Kedre is such a talented artist, he is so patient and insightful. His friendly and charismatic personality makes every student feel at ease and inspired to embrace their inner artist. We are looking forward to having your return next school year. The work shop was a great success.

Thank you,

Gary Allen High School Georgetown, Child and Youth Councilor

The students all really enjoyed it and have been talking about it all week! It’s been lot’s of fun!

Eric was wonderful with the students! He’s very caring and respectful.  He built relationships with each of them very quickly and was mindful how a couple of them struggle with anxiety.  He also recognized the different skill sets that the students have and is going to make accommodations for them for next session. We’re all really looking forward to having him back!

Jeffery Von Zuben – School Social Worker, Halton District School Boards HOPES Program

The guys were fantastic. They are very down to earth and have great applicable stories the students can relate to. The talent that is behind every piece, although seemingly simplistic, is so sophisticated. So thankful.

Kylie – SMART Teacher

By the end of the 4 day workshop the students were interacting positively with each other. The group canvas really helped to build relationships between the students. Previously withdrawn students began cooperating, as well as giving and receiving feedback. The students were able to relate easily with the artists and valued their expertise and feedback. The artists also made the students feel comfortable to take risks with their art. The students learnt some valuable skills – art-wise and socially.

The workshop was good. More time outdoors with the spray paint would be better. We worked better as a group when working with the paint. We learnt a lot and got lots done.

I really enjoyed it. I liked the spray paint – even though it was scary. I really liked looking at the picture forming.

I think it was good that they told us the difference between legal and illegal graffiti. Of course, my favourite part was winning the canvas that Jessie painted at the end. I thought all the guys were great and really tried hard to help us out. Thanks!
