From the blog of Kedre Brown

“Drew Hildebrand died at the age of 16, a victim of teen violence. He was from my area and new a lot of the same people I know, its too bad I never got to know him while he was still alive he was a really cool kid. I was honored when I was asked to paint something during the Drew Hildebrand Walk/Run event, I brought my Little sister out to watch and have fun with everyone very family friendly and filled with love! A big and special thank you to Kim Evershed (Step Mother) for running the event and inviting me to join and making me feel so welcomed! Get involved!”

Volunteer and Job Fair packs the Holiday Inn Conference Centre

The Holiday Inn (30 Peel Centre Drive) was host to a very unique networking opportunity for young Bramptonians on March 3rd. The Youth Exchange Program organized Job & Volunteer Fair brought many in the area together in the name of educational, volunteer, and employment opportunities. The free-of-charge event allowed participants to see a variety of different career and social paths that may not have seemed available or attainable beforehand. The event, offered in partnerships with Sheridan College, Volunteer MBC, and the Brampton Mayor’s Youth Team, was extremely informative while also cultivating a sense of enthusiasm and fun throughout. Engaging youths in the community is important in ensuring that they remain on their own personal path to success. And judging by the effort on March 3rd, which had an extensive youth involvement, the future is bright for many who were in attendance at the Holiday Inn.
