Fundraising Tips

Fundraising Tips – for Individuals

Here are some fundraising methods to help you with pledge donations:

  • Please wear your dhtbf pin when asking for donations. It gives Drew’s fund proper identification and have your registration package with you. They are available at Select High Schools or downloaded from our website. www.drewhildebrandtbf.com
  • Set your goal. Write your goal on your Donation form and track your progress.  Let your donors know your goal and how close you are to achieving it. When you reach your goal, let them know their contribution helped.
  • Pledge yourself first. Others will appreciate that you are contributing your time and dollars.
  • Be enthusiastic and inform donors about Drew’s fund. Let people know their money will make a difference in the lives for “turnaround teens” with our scholarship fund for Halton & Peel communities. You can reference your charity brochure with your registration package.
  • Start high and others will follow. People tend to give what they see other people gave, so try to get a large donation to put first on your pledge form.
  • Ask everyone and anyone. If you don’t ask, they won’t give.  Small donations can add up quickly. You can also send out an email or mail letters.
  • Don’t forget to ask: Friends, neighbors, relatives, business associates, doctors, dentists, hairdressers, club & church members.
  • Ask for donations on payday. Have a donation jar in the lunchroom, office or club. Ask everyone to drop in his or her spare change.
  • Ask your business vendors for donations.
  • Remember to say thank you. Ask them to come out and cheer you on in completing Drew’s 5K Walk and enjoy the music festival.
  • After Drew’s Walk - Send an email or send out thank-you notes to your donors.  Let them know how much money you raised and how their support made a difference.
